Is the map WYSIWYG?

Or is there lands beyond the borders?

I'm just wondering as I prepare to create a character.

What you see is what you get with the map. Of course, if you provide a stunning application with thought, inspiration, and something unique to offer, many of the mods will be accepting. However, the lands are already vast and varied so there is little reason to extend beyond the current realm. In addition, there would have to be a very good reason why your character traveled from distant, unknown lands. It would have to be something akin to Christopher Columbus, or someone else bent on exploration. So, the answer is yes, but with a huge 'if' factor. And that's from one mod. Another one might offer something completely different, as the topic is yet to be breeched.

Thank you.  Of course if anytone else has anything else to tell me about this it'd be appreciated.

But this has answered my question, and you have my thanks.

The history of Aedolyn is very very intertwined with the geographic lands and so I would like to expect any character to be a product of the history (thus the entire concept of time travel).  Any "foreigner" would find it very difficult to get anywhere in Aedolyn since each group of people is very in tune with their own specific nationalism...so on that note, I would also suggest not to take that route and to pick from what we offer and have laid out.

But if you have any more questions...feel free to ask. :D

Alright after sometime and chatting with Verisiel I feel I need to reexplain myself.

The reason I asked about the map is because the character I'm trying to put together is based off of a very old concept of mine.

And unfortunately does not easily fit into the very European flavour of the forum. But the reason I asked about the map comes in here, as the character is a compulsive wanderer, always wanting to see what's around the next corner and over the next rise.

He also has a definatively Asian/Oriental (I never liked that word) feel to him. MArtial Artist, philosopher etc.

So Silivrenniel kind of guessed my approach, but not wanting to press the issue I had decided to try and make him fit into what was already established but ran into the problem that he won't. No matter what I do I can't make him fit.

So, I hope to get a ruling on somehow fitting this character into the RP.

be careful with that, seems they have a real hard on for not having anything even slightly oriental, or so I have experienced.

I chatted with with another staff member earlier today to talk about far eastern aspects of GoA. We cannot change the nature of the site to add any lands, but we agreed that we have seen multiple examples throughout our RP experience of characters that were Asian in some aspects, and it would be okay to make your character in that way.

Your character's origins don't necessarily have to be from a strictly Asian homeland, and the knowledge of martial arts and philosophy are definitely something not foreign in this forum. Your best bet would probably be to try and manipulate the characater to fit as best as possible, and Asian/Oreintal aspects are most certainly welcome.
