To all of GoA,

As the title suggests, this is my farewell note. I would like to thank everyone for the great times that I’ve had here and I will always have fond memories of this place. I would also like to offer a sincere apology to anyone who intended to continue roleplaying with me, but I believe that there is a time where all things must come to an end, and Gates of Aedolyn’s time has come.

There is a list of things I have done to try to save the site and it is possible that I could’ve done even more, but I truly believe that if we were to have a full, lasting revival, the original staff would have to make a return and finish what they started. GoA is the most well thought-out and developed site I have ever had the privilege of being a member of, and it saddens me to let it go. The plot, setting, and everything had so much potential that was never fulfilled in its entirety.

Of course, I have little right to carve out the future of this beautiful site in stone, as that supreme ruling should be left to Harken or Thieryn, but there is little to salvage now. If either of them wishes the site to continue, then I will happily oblige and carry on with them, but very drastic measures must be taken that includes, but is not limited to, the wiping clean of all member postings, applications, roleplays and anything else that is not in use and not in the library. In other words, the only way I think that GoA can be salvaged is to close for a short time, be cleaned up, and have a reopening. Again, this is only if the head administrators wish to have a final shot. If not, my resignation stands.

I realize that there are not many of you left to even see this message, but for those of you who do, please understand that I’m not rage-quitting, running from disputes, or anything like that, but just see little hope for the site if we continue like we are now. I want no hard feelings to be left behind among a member list that was so wonderfully talented, and hope to encounter you all sometime, somewhere in the future.

My dear fellow Aedolynites,

I fear that I must also take my leave, as much as I love this site and wish to see it prosper, it will never happen in it's current state. It saddens me beyond belief to see such a marvelous piece of work disappear. But as the months have gone by with no interest from its creators, I find myself loosing my sense of responsibility to continue pushing. S3ntry and I have done what we can to keep it afloat but it is up to Harken and those who originally helped him -if ever they reappear- to do the revival, not us. And so due to lack of activity and interest from frankly everybody but a select few I must say goodbye. I am truly sorry for this and the incontinence it will cause some. If there ever is a revival I would love to come back but my hopes are slim.

Well, since I was the only active member other than the two who just posted, I suppose I should also put my word in. oooo passive voice. stupid English teacher... Seems like I really have two choices either begin a new Rp thread alone and have this vast land to myself, or make like a tree and leave sleeping dogs lie... or what ever. My choice, bow out until such a time when this place is not a ghost town. Peace.
